Monica Semedo | From Prime Time to Starting Over

Monica Semedo has spent more than three decades in front of audiences. She began as a child performer and singer who released her first album in 1992 and scored a number one hit a few years later. For twenty-two years she was the face of RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg, going on air at the age of eleven. She went on to host live events across Luxembourg and beyond, serving as Master of Ceremonies for the Olympic Games of the Small States of Europe, Ironman races, and major cultural stages. Later she spent five years as a Member of the European Parliament, speaking in plenary sessions and representing her country on international platforms.

Through every chapter she carried one clear conviction: everyone has something important to say, and everyone deserves to be heard. That belief became the foundation of SHINE Consultancy and its signature programme, SHINE Stage Confidence®.

For Monica, starting from scratch brought its own tests. Without an established professional network for this new chapter, networking and gaining clients proved one of the earliest and most persistent challenges she faced. Behind the public steps of building a website, creating content, and preparing pitches sat a quieter reality for her: Monica is visually impaired, and every practical task required extra focus, adaptation, and persistence. She built everything herself, shaped the methodology, and structured the mentoring pathways piece by piece. That daily determination is what she is most proud of.

Today SHINE offers individual mentoring, group workshops, and specialised on-camera coaching. Her approach is entirely practical, drawing directly from decades of live television, parliamentary speaking, and high-pressure events. Her goal remains simple and consistent: to help professionals speak with authenticity so their message lands and stays.
