Leading with Purpose: How Patricia Souza Bridges Deep Tech and Female Empowerment

Patricia Souza is a tech professional and full-time executive in Luxembourg’s innovation ecosystem who also runs her own ASBL, GeekGirls. Her venture began with a need to change her career. That need pushed her to start building a brand of her own, without giving up the work she already had.

Along the way, she has learned that the two paths do not have to compete. People expect a conflict of interest, but what she found is pure complementarity. A conviction that two career pathways can thrive side by side, which she most wants to share with other women weighing a similar move.

Through GeekGirls, Patricia creates hands-on opportunities in STEM designed to give young girls practical skills, confidence, and connections in robotics, coding, and related fields. The milestone she names as her most defining is Robotics Rookies, a free, five-month hands-on programme. In July 2025, 25 students aged eleven to eighteen graduated after presenting their final projects to a panel of eleven jurors, marking a proud moment for Patricia as she ignited that lasting spark for technology in them.

Patricia’s drive to bridge the gender gap extends well beyond GeekGirls. She also serves as President of two other prominent ASBLs: Women4Cyber Luxembourg and Club Gëlle Fra Soroptimist. Leading initiatives of this scale naturally brings tests, particularly when navigating different visions among founders, partners, and key stakeholders. Whenever alignment is needed, Patricia re-anchors the collective focus onto a shared core mission, centering every discussion on real-world impact to transform diverse perspectives into strong, collaborative outcomes.

When asked what she would say to another woman who is hesitant to begin her own venture or career path, Patricia’s answer is short and clear: “Find your purpose.”
